Greetings Smartphone users! smile.gif

I'm glad to introduce you the very first version release of SBSH Clock for Smartphone devices, in initial public beta version 0.92.

SBSH Clock for Smartphone is similar to our SBSH Clock for Pocket PC devices and the two applications will be developed alongside now that we've completed the structuring of the Smartphone version too. Unlike the Pocket PC version, the Clock for Smartphone version doesn't include a Home screen plugin at this stage, which will arrive with future updates for Smartphone devices too.

Since SBSH Clock for Smartphone is currently in public beta stages all users can download this version for free. More details how to download the new Clock for Smartphone are available at the bottom of this post smile.gif

So let's get started and check out SBSH Clock for Smartphone 0.92! clap1.gif

The TimeConsole - World Time tab

The core part of the SBSH Clock for Smartphone is the TimeConsole application, which will be consisted of a several tabs. In this initial version the TimeConsole only includes the first initial tab, the World Time tab, and more tabs will follow with upcoming new updates as we continue the development.

Generally, World Time tab displays the time in four different cities around the Globe along with a world-map day/night display at the top of the tab.

The top part shows the world map picture with earth shadow position and color markers reflecting the position of each city. The bottom part contains the list of four cities, with their time and day info. Based on the colored rectangle on the left you can see the "pin" color for each location as positioned on the top world-map.

Use D-PAD for activating and deactivating the pin-point position for each location. Up/down arrow will move focus to or from the cities list and select desired city. Using the D-Pad action key you can activate or deactivate the city marker on the top world-map display cool.gif

When the World Time is used in full mode, the sun/moon icon on the right represents the day/night state for each city at this time of the day. And of course, in the middle of each item in the list you can view the complete date and time details for each of your configured clocks.

The bottom locations list can be configured to display using full or compact mode.

Compact mode is automatically configured as the default mode for users with a landscape screen devices, while the full mode will be automatically selected for users with portrait screen phones.

SBSH Clock Options

SBSH Clock Options allows to configure the four displayed cities and the World Time display mode. You can activate the Clock Options section through the TimeConsole Menu button.

The countries and cities list cover almost all of the locations world-wide and you should be able to locate a city that will match your time and desired place world-wide biggrin.gif

Downloading and installing the new SBSH Clock 0.92

SBSH Clock for Smartphone can be downloaded for free by all users during the current public beta stages. The current public beta version will also continue to work in the future when the official release will be available. The new version can be downloaded from our site at the following URL:

http://www.sbsh.net/...p?page=download

Use either the EXE installer to install from desktop PC or CAB installation package for installation directly on you device or for Mac users.

Future plans and thoughts

As mentioned at the beginning of the post, this is the initial version release of our upcoming SBSH Clock application for our Smartphone users. The important reason we wanted to port the current Clock version also for Smartphone users is to allow us to develop the new Clock for both platforms at the same time, this way both our Smartphone and Pocket PC users will be able to enjoy the new upcoming public beta releases of Clock and once completed, the official version release will also be made available for both Pocket PC and Smartphone devices biggrin.gif

We are especially looking for as much input as possible from our users that will help us better design upcoming updates. We already have most of the development plan for SBSH Clock upcoming updates ready, but we are always looking and reading new ideas and suggestions to see what additional ideas we don't have planned yet and will make a great addition to SBSH Clock upcoming developments smile.gif

We hope that you will enjoy this new SBSH Clock for Smartphone release and looking forward for your input after trying this new release smile.gif We invite you to stay tuned for upcoming new version releases as we continue the development progress.

Just curious -- but -- what would the intended use of this program be? If it had alarm-clock functionality, that would be GREAT -- especially an alarm clock with SBSH behind it. As is though, I'm not sure why I'd give up RAM/ROM for it...

Hi,
today released version is just an introduction to the series of public betas that will lead to the final, features-rich version. In the future releases the number of the Clock features will grow and grow and .. wink.gif

I like new toys for installing on my phone! smile.gif

I agree some kind of alarm would be cool. I'd also like to see the functionality of this be modular so that it can be fed into Facade as well for use on home screens.

Look forward to watching it grow! smile.gif

Hi alienmeatsack! smile.gif

Alarms are definitely in the development plan and we are already in discussion how this feature will be implemented cool.gif But now that you mentioned some kind of integration with Facade I think we will need to discuss this some more and see what we can come up with! I think this is something users will like to see! cool2.gif

We will definitely get this one there too cool.gif

Nice app. Thanks for the beta.
I did notice that the caption did not change automatically when I changed one of the Cities.
It was City #2 and I changed to Quito, Ecuador.
Seemed like everything else I tried work just fine.

As i stated somewhere else, I just won a copy of Fizz Traveler recently and then got interested in Phone Alarm, both of which everyone is skinning for. However, when i saw Phone Weaver I decided if that was coming for smartphone, i'd just as soon wait and support SBSH (plus i don't want six apps, where one or two by the same developer might integrate better).

All that blathering having been said.....is this Clock app going to become like Phone Weaver, are they entirely different, are they going to overlap....?

I know, Amit, you don't want to tip your hand where unecessary--wouldn't expect you to---but can you offer anything about the ppc and SP comparisons within SBSH? Does that question make any sense?
