PocketBreeze 5.3.06 released! :)

Good morning all!

I'm excited to announce today the new update release for PocketBreeze to version 5.3.06!

With this new update we have some really cool new features which I'm positive our users will be really happy to see. The features included with this new update were requested for a while now on our forums and are probably part of the most requested new features we had for a while now

This new update arrives about a week (8 days) following the previous update to version 5.3.04 and I really hope that you will all enjoy the new version features.

So let's get started with the interesting part!

What's new in PocketBreeze 5.3.06?

1. New monthly calendar Preview Pane - One of the most exciting new features with this new version is probably the new monthly calendar preview pane addition that is now available

With this new addition when opening the monthly popup calendar you will also have a new preview pane at the bottom of the calendar giving you a preview of your appointments for the currently highlighted day on the popup monthly calendar. This new feature is really helpful when scheduling new appointments or when selecting new dates for item rescheduling as this allows you to get some preview about your activity for the selected days before actually having to select this date or load this specific date on the PocketBreeze display

This new addition makes the popup monthly calendar an ultimate solution for date picking as it makes the entire date picker process much easier to handle and gives you the best tools to review your activities for a specific date in the fastest possible way

I know this feature was requested on our forums for a while now, so I hope that our users will also really enjoy to see this addition with this new latest version.

2. Expanding/Collapsing grouping titles with D-Pad - A second cool new feature added with this new update that was requested by our users for a while now too is the ability to expand/collapse grouping titles more easily, especially when using the D-Pad navigation to control PocketBreeze. Now we've got a great solution for this implemented with this new version, allowing you to super easily change the folding state of your grouping titles using the D-Pad only.

The solution will have a bit different behavior if you are using horizontal tabs mode or vertical tabs mode - this is since your left D-Pad direction button is used to jump back to the tabs bar in vertical tabs mode and therefore on vertical tabs mode the solution could only use the right D-Pad navigation button compared to horizontal tabs mode were we can use both D-Pad direction button more freely.

When using vertical tabs mode, clicking the D-Pad right direction button while a grouping title is highlighted will toggle that grouping title folding state between collapsed and expanded mode. When using horizontal tabs mode we were able to implement a few more advanced features: clicking the left/right button will collapse/expand a grouping title. A second click on left/right will cause a collapse all/expand all operation for all grouping titles

This is also a feature that was requested for a while now and I'll be definitely happy to receive input about this new feature implementation and hear if you like this new feature and any additional ideas that you might have on this.

PocketBreeze 5.3.06 development log

* New "No Available Items" message will now be displayed on the new Preview Pane on the popup monthly calendar when the currently highlighted day doesn't include any items with it.
* New "No Day Selected" message will be displayed on the new preview pane when no day is highlighted on the popup monthly calendar.
* Problem with new popup monthly calendar preview pane displaying also appointments not based on the current selected category/filter fixed. Only appointments that are included in the current active category/filter will be displayed on the preview pane.
* Problem with appointment font not aligned properly on the popup monthly calendar preview pane with certain configuration setup fixed.
* When using horizontal tabs clicking the D-Pad left button once will collapse the current grouping title, a second click once the grouping title is already collapsed will collapse all grouping titles. Same thing when using the D-Pad right button will expand items.
* Default D-Pad navigation for the popup monthly calendar changed to complete D-Pad controlling when installing PocketBreeze instead of the previous default which was set to use complete navigation only upon Copy/Cut operations.
* Problem with new D-Pad right/left capability to expand/collapse grouping titles not working on the Contacts tab and Notes tab fixed.
* Reschedule & Reminder dialogs are now using the same dialog structure both when opened by clicking the reminder icon or when opened through the "Reschedule & Reminder" context menu item.
* The Reschedule & Reminder dialog will place the D-Pad focus on the reminder checkbox initially when opened by clicking the Reminder icon for faster controlling over the reminder status of the task.
* Problem when opening the Reschedule & Reminder dialog for undated tasks not showing the current date as the suggested Due date fixed.
* Menu items Collapse All and Expand All in the grouping title context menu will now always be available on the context menu regardless to the current highlighted grouping title folding state
* Clicking the D-Pad right/left direction buttons when a grouping title is highlighted will expand/collapse the grouping title, respectively. When using vertical tabs mode right click will do both expanding and collapsing since left clicking is reserved to bring the D-Pad focus back to the tabs bar.
* Opening or editing a recurring appointment when using the default PIM will now ask whether to open the entire series or only the current instance. Allowing to view/edit either the series or single instance of the selected appointment.
* Problem with popup monthly calendar not opening when clicking the D-Pad Action button on a date control picker and using a Pocket PC 2003 device fixed.
* Problem with popup monthly calendar opened and closed right afterwards when opening the popup monthly calendar from a date picker control on the Reschedule & Reminder dialog using the D-Pad action button fixed.
* Problem when opening the popup monthly calendar from the new Reschedule & Reminder dialog using the stylus causing the dialog to start with multiple days selection or close right away fixed.
* New preview pane added to the Popup monthly calendar displaying a preview of the appointments included in the currently highlighted day. The preview pane will automatically adjust the size based on the device screen resolution and will display up to 8 appointments on portrait screens and up to 4 items on square screen devices.
* Problem when clicking the Calendar tab icon or Top bar calendar icon to open the popup monthly calendar causing several initial days to be marked when initialized fixed.
