This has been a long time in the making, but finally we are excited to announce...
After a long period of development and beta testing we are excited to announce today the release of PocketWeather 2.0! The all new PocketWeather 2.0 brings with it lots of wonderful new features, including: New Today screen plug-in design with powerful layout-scripting allowing designers to create endless display layouts, completely re-designed and empowered WeatherConsole supporting all screen resolutions and orientations, a completely new user-friendly Options interface, new PocketBreeze integration allowing one to view the weather within PocketBreeze, new powerful data-access configuration options and much more!

Let's get into some more details about the new version:
1. Today Plug-In Redesign and Layout-Scripting
With the new PocketWeather 2.0 we've re-designed the Today plug-in making it easier to use for new users and at the same time a powerful solution for advanced users. The new Today screen plug-in arrives with 5 new default layouts: Classic and Compact that are tab-based layouts and Multiline-2, 3 and 4 which display multiple locations, one at a line.

Users that would like to try additional advanced layouts will find many new display layouts (16) available within the "Today Extras" layout popup menu which includes additional layout options designed for advanced users. Some of the advanced layouts are designed to include also weather maps and more advanced information on your Today screen! The advanced layouts are placed separately to simplify the use for users that would like to receive basic weather information on the Today screen only
The new Today Plug-in also introduces complete D-Pad navigation support, allowing users to fully navigate through different locations on the Today plug-in as part of the overall D-Pad navigation experience on the Today screen! This is something that we were missing with previous versions of PocketWeather and finally have this working, too
The most important change with the new PocketWeather Today screen plug-in is actually hidden behind the display with the implementation of a new advanced layout-scripting system, allowing designers and users to basically create any display layout they wish for their weather information on the Today screen! Creating new weather layouts can be a bit tricky and require some understand of the scripting system, but downloading and installing new layouts created by designers is really easy! Using this new system users are now able to create endless new layouts to enrich their PocketWeather display on the Today screen to perfectly match their Today screen!
You can read more on how to tweak, modify or write new weather-layouts in the PocketWeather Custom Layout Manual that can be downloaded at the following URL:

2. New WeatherConsole
A new re-designed WeatherConsole is introduced with this new PocketWeather 2.0 release! A lot of the work that was done with the new WeatherConsole re-design was implemented in order to fully support different screen orientations and resolutions in the best possible way. With previous versions, supporting square screen devices was lacking and was landscape screens or when changing orientations. The new WeatherConsole fully supports all orientations in the best possible way!
Apart from improved resolution support the WeatherConsole brings a powerful weather solutions for users on the move that require access to vital weather information everywhere! The new WeatherConsole introduces enhanced METAR current condition view, detailed METAR with raw METAR/TAF data, compare views and much more!

3. PocketBreeze Integration
One of the new exciting features available with the new PocketWeather 2.0 is special integration with the latest PocketBreeze version!

PocketBreeze users can configure the integrated weather display and choose between: Disabled, Icons only and Icons with temperatures display.
Please notice that you must install the latest PocketBreeze 5.4 which was also released today in order for the new integration to work. You can read more and download PocketBreeze 5.4 from the following URL:

4. New Default Weather Graphics and PNG support
For the new PocketWeather version we've got new amazing looking set of weather icons designed by Juni!

Additionally, the new version also supports PNG skin images in addition to the older TGA files support which is still supported too. PNG files are smaller in size than TGA files and thus makes any additional weather icon sets smaller to install on the device
5. New PocketWeather Options
As part of our efforts to bring a new user-friendly interface, PocketWeather Options section was completely re-designed following a new interface and navigation interface that will make it much easier for newbie users to easily configure PocketWeather and explore the different options offered!

The new PocketWeather Options follow a similar design used with our recent application updates with a main icons list dividing the Options to different topics and with options available for each section within the different option sub-sections. We hope that with the new Options section interface users' navigation and configuration will become an easier task and will bring a better overall experience
6. Weather Source Templates Support
Weather Data sources are the most important aspects of any weather software. PocketWeather recognizes this, which is why the new PocketWeather 2.0 not only supports a good weather source by default, but in addition allows for almost any Internet source to be accessed and aggregated by means of the new custom weather templates!
Custom weather templates allow parsing/screen-scraping of any Internet page to extract all the relevant weather data. To make the creation, editing and debugging of the scripts as easy as possible, a special PC editor has been made freely available. You can download the Weather Source Templates Editor at the following URL:
