EDIT: Be sure to read also the last minor version post: http://forums.sbsh.n...showtopic=22087

Good day all smile.gif

I'm excited to announce today that...

SBSH PhoneWeaver 1.2 is here!

With this new version you will find some really great new additions including a few major feature implementations following our users' requests on the forums in the past several months! biggrin.gif So let's get in to the details about this new release right away then!

1. Counters Support

This long awaited feature is now available for all Windows Mobile 5/6 PhoneWeaver users! With this new version you will find four new optional counter items that can be included on the PhoneWeaver Today plugin. Clicking each of the new counters will result with a different action, corresponding to the service represented by each of the counters smile.gif

The four new optional counters introduced with the new PhoneWeaver 1.2:
  • Pending SMS/MMS messages - Single click the counter to access your SMS/MMS account, based on the account holding the new messages
  • New Emails - Click the emails counter to access your emails account directly from your Today screen
  • Missed Calls - Clicking the counter will activate the call history display
  • Voice Mail - Use PhoneWeaver options to define your voice-mail phone number. Single clicking the counter will initiate a call to your voice-mail account to easily listen to your new voice mail messages.
Below you can see a screen capture showing the four new counter items included with the PhoneWeaver Today plugin display smile.gif

2. Profile Icons

New profile icons support implemented, allowing users to define an icon that will represent each of your profiles! smile.gif Profile icons are used for two main purposes. The first, the current active profile icon is displayed to the left of the profile name inside the PhoneWeaver Today screen plugin, making it much easier to notice which profile is currently the active profile when glancing at your Today screen, a sample of this is visible in the screenshot above demonstrating the Day profile as the active profile along with the Sun icon that was configured to represent the Day profile smile.gif

The second use of profile icons, which is also the real power behind this new feature: profile icons are now used as the PhoneWeaver Tray-Bar shortcut button for the Popup Menu mode, when activating the Tray Bar shortcut button! Basically, this means that users that prefer to use PhoneWeaver in Popup Menu only along with the Tray Bar shortcut button will now be able to see which profile is currently active based on the Tray Bar shortcut icon showing! Keeping the most minimal use of screen real estate offered by the PhoneWeaver Popup Menu mode and yet allowing users to easily see which profile is currently active all the time without having to open the Popup Menu each time.

In the screen capture here below you can see the Sun icon showing as the PhoneWeaver Popup Menu tray-bar shortcut, indicating that the Day profile is the currently active profile even without having to open the popup context menu cool.gif

The Profile Manager Options interface was already enhanced to support the new Profile Icons support and to provide better means of configuration for the new feature. With the new Profiles list you will now be able to see which profile icon is assigned to each of your profiles, assuming that such is indeed assigned along with a few additional internal code optimizations that helped us decrease the code size and resources used on this section along with a few additional improvements. In the screenshot here below you can see how the new Profile Manage list look like when assigning profile icons to your profiles list.

The new version arrives with a set of professionally designed profile-icons store that users can use for their profile icons from. Users can also easily assign any different icon file for their profile icons and not only from within the provided built-in profile icons cool.gif Profiles without any icon assigned to them will use the default PhoneWeaver profile image as in the past.

3. New Today Plugin Layout Options

With this new version you will find new and more powerful Today plugin layout options allowing you to configure the PhoneWeaver Today plugin exactly the way you want it! smile.gif

The new Today plugin layout options interface offers 3 built-in layout configurations:

Thumbs Layout - A fixed layout optimized for thumbs use using larger buttons.
Stylus Layout - A fixed layout optimized for stylus/D-Pad use with smaller buttons that require minimal Today screen real-estate.
Custom Layout - Using the custom layout users can define their own preferred layout, re-order the different buttons and counters, choose button size between large/small and position items in two separate rows on the Today Plugin display! The Custom Layout is designed for users that prefer to have a custom layout different from the first two layouts.

In the screen capture below you can see the new Today Plugin configuration dialog.

4. Profile Lock

A new padlock button is now placed on the PhoneWeaver Today Plugin. Single click the padlock button to lock the current profile. Locking a profile will prevent any other automatic profile to replace the current profile completely. This feature is especially important in situations you wish to have a specific profile active and make sure it won't change, such as: flight-mode, important meeting and so forth.

5. Improved skins and PNG support

New PNG support implemented with the new PhoneWeaver version. Support in previous TGA files format is still supported too. The move to PNG format helps decreasing the overall application installation size and also helps reducing the footprint of third party skins created for PhoneWeaver by our community users.

With this new version PhoneWeaver can load skins from any folder on the device, including a storage card, and not only skins stored in fixed folder as it was managed with the previous version of PhoneWeaver smile.gif

Click here to view the skinning guide thread within the PhoneWeaver Resources forum for more information about PhoneWeaver skinning

6. Powerful Command-Line Support!

Our advanced users will be glad to hear that the new PhoneWeaver version introduces new powerful command-line support. Using the new command line support users can take advantage of the large verity of commands offered by PhoneWeaver through any mean of shortcut button, such as iLauncher shortcuts, hardware buttons and so forth. In other works, you can now create shortcut buttons within iLauncher to activate certain PhoneWeaver profiles, activate/disable radio services and so forth! Taking advantage of PhoneWeaver's set of features even when you can have it disabled from your Today screen.

To take advantage of this new command line support you will need to create shortcuts to the following file: "\Windows\PhWeaver.exe XYZ" were the following values can be used for XYZ:
  • SELECT_PROFILE : 1nn (Being nn the profile number with two digits)
  • AUTOMATIC_PROFILE: 500
  • WIFI_ON: 910
  • BT_ON: 911
  • PHONE_ON: 912
  • PUSH_ON: 913
  • WIFI_OFF: 920
  • BT_OFF: 921
  • PHONE_OFF: 922
  • PUSH_OFF: 923
  • WIFI_TOGGLE: 930
  • BT_TOGGLE : 931
  • PHONE_TOGGLE: 932
  • PUSH_TOGGLE: 933
7. Some great additional improvements!

As with each new version you will find some great additional improvements. Among those you will find with this new version: Swedish translation, improved functionality when using the New profile button to create new profiles, following configuration import the PhoneWeaver Today Plugin will now be updated automatically, compatibility with new additional devices, code optimization on the Plugin drawing code and more!

Here is another short list of a few additional bugs that were fixed with this new version:
  • Solved a issue that could cause registration problems on busy devices.
  • Fixed a bug that caused the last language to be replaced with the second one.
  • Better Wi-Fi state detection.
  • Removed unneeded graphics from WM2003 version.
  • Solved a bug that caused BL levels over 10 to fail.
  • Support for AC backlight on HTC TyTn II
  • Better support for BL in Ipaq devices.
  • Much more reliable cellular data call establishment.
  • Now data calls are dropped before turning off the Phone to avoid issues when the phone is turned on again.
  • Previously the default for establish data call in new installations was "Establish", changed to "No change"
  • Solved random Wi-Fi LED blink.
  • Solved a bug that caused in previous versions that new modified/created/deleted appointments were not taken into account until another profile was triggered or the popup menu launched when into popup mode. On 1.2 the problem happened always because the new plugin mode.
  • Faster redraw of the plugin.
Upgrading to PhoneWeaver 1.2 for Registered Users

All registered PhoneWeaver 1.X users are entitled to upgrade to the new version for free. Simply download the new version files from the links provided here below and install them on your device instead of the current version you have installed on your device. Your current registration details will follow with you to the new version installation automatically smile.gif

Please notice that due to the major layout changes implemented with this new version the previous today plug-in layout configuration will be lost when installing the new version, so users will need to define their new layout configuration options. Since the entire interface for the Today plug-in layout was reimplemented completely the previous options are not valid with this new version any longer smile.gif Other PhoneWeaver options will be preserved with the new version.
