Hi all,

I’m really excited to announce today the release of a brand new Windows Mobile Touch application – SBSH GoNews Touch!!

GoNews Touch (GNT) is an exciting newsreader application allowing you to download the latest news from any web-site across the internet directly to your Windows Mobile Smart-phone and easily read the news you want even without having an internet connection at the same time.

GoNews use a powerful engine that supports news aggregation from any RSS web-site or from regular web-sites using special templates for parsing different web-site content to full-text GoNews articles!

In addition, similar to all of our latest Touch apps updates, GoNews Touch is the first newsreader application to adopt a complete touch-oriented user interface and can be used with finger navigation only, leaving no need to use your stylus again! This brings an exciting new experience to news reading with your Smart-phone device!

Before we move forward I will take this opportunity to welcome our new developer Junjie who is managing the new GoNews Touch project development here at SBSH and will be managing the activity here at the GoNews forum along with me and the moderators team Now let's get moving forward with some more great details!

1. Ultimate News Reader Solution - GoNews Touch offers the ultimate newsreader solution for Windows Mobile Touch devices up to date! GoNews is structured on top of a powerful back-end engine that provides powerful article download either from RSS streams or from regular web-sites using templates that define article downloading from any regular web-site you wish!

GoNews quickly downloads all your defined news channels content to your device via internet connection. Once an update is completed you can browse through all latest headlines and articles while you are on the go, even without active connection - for example during your morning train ride, while your on a business flight and so forth..

GoNews is the first news reader for Windows Mobile that brings a complete touch-design interface! Making the browsing through the news articles much more enjoyable and similar to the reading experience of a normal newspaper! With GoNews Touch you can read through your different news article using only fingers navigation!


2. Touch Navigation Optimized - GoNews Touch is the first professional newsreader solution for Windows Mobile Touch devices to introduce complete touch navigation control with it One of the main design guidelines that we were working on with GoNews Touch was to bring users news headlines reading to their Windows Mobile Touch devices wrapped with a complete finger-friendly navigation experience and without having to use the stylus at all!

GoNews Touch adopts our latest touch technology interfaces that were introduced with our latest Calendar Touch updates, such as the new Touch Tray Bar interface allowing users to easily control the content using only their fingers, Touch Scrolling for the best finger scrolling and the new Full Screen Touch Menus to complete the finger-friendly design and making sure there is no need to use the stylus at all!

3. Full Text Article Fetching Using Templates - GoNews Touch support full text article fetching from any web-site. The news article fetching is done using templates that guide GoNews Touch how the specific web-site content should be parsed to generate your GoNews article content from the content available on each specific web-site.

This powerful feature will allow you to easily grab news in full text article format that brings more data on top of basic RSS feeds both from web-sites that doesn't offer RSS feeds as an option and also for web-sites that does include an RSS option but when you prefer to fetch the entire article text and not only summarized RSS content

GoNews Touch is shipped with templates for most major news/high tech web-sites that will allow you to easily fetch full text articles with images for these major news web-sites!

Additionally, we've created a first short user guide that includes technical details how users can create their own templates to fetch news content from any different web-site that you would like. This way users can easily create template files that define news fetching from any web-site they wish, even for web-sites that doesn't have templates shipped with GoNews as part of the default installation.

We've also created a special sub-forum within the GoNews forum where users can post templates for web-site fetching that they created, so if you created a new template to fetch content from different web-sites we will really appreciate if you can also post it within the new GoNews Templates sub-forum and share the new template file with the community users! I'm sure that many users will be really glad to use different templates for full-text article fetching that brings better results than RSS feeds.


4. RSS Support (0.9x/1.0/2.0) - In addition to GoNews Touch ability to download full text articles based on templates GoNews also support article downloads that use RSS format, so basically you can easily add new channels to your GoNews headlines from any web-sites that provides RSS service (similar to the RSS option that is also available on our web-site too).

GoNews supports RSS in all versions starting from older 0.9.x up to recent RSS 2.0 format, so you should have no problem adding new RSS channel from any web-site that offers RSS.


5. Article Thumbnails and Article Images Display - Among the advanced features you will find article thumbnail images are displayed along with the list of articles with GoNews, giving you a small but meaningful preview of the content you will find within each of your articles list, in addition to the article title.

Additionally, when downloading full text articles GoNews also supports image downloads so you will also have images displayed along with your articles when reading through your different articles with GoNews.

Thanks Joachim for the feedback! I'm really glad to hear that things are working fast with GoNews first version.

We've been working a lot on the download speed during the beta testing stages since the first beta version was far slower than this the first official version release A lot of credit for the speed improvement goes to the beta group that indicated that this is one of the must-have things that we have to improve dramatically before releasing the first official version

Once you get a chance to try it out some more I would love to hear more feedback and ideas for things you would like to see included as we continue with the development for GoNews The development for GoNews is moving ahead in full pace

The regular manual is now uploaded (I will finish this in 10 minutes and post about it ) and the templates creation manual will be uploaded shortly too now Give me a few more moments and I'll finish posting details about everything

GoNews Touch looks to be a very nice addition to the SBSH Software line up.

I love using this so far, and have been looking for a good reader for some time. Finger scrolling works great.

Many thanks fuatay for the support and congrats for the first post at our forums! I'm really glad to hear that you enjoy GoNews Touch first release!

As for a German localized version - the current version still includes only an English version, but similar to all of our other apps you can be sure that a localized version will arrive shortly, and of course a German translation will be one of the first translations to be included as with all of our applications!

When it comes to channels - new channels can easily be added based on any RSS feed link from any web-site you would like (I'm uploading the user manual details right now and will post about it in a few moments..). Furthermore, we are working to build some nice listing where users will be able to share feeds and feed templates that were created for GoNews, so this will make the all process of sharing feeds much easier

Since this is a new application I'm sure that within a few days we will see much more content and RSS feeds available for GoNews
